During the Covid-19 pandemic, I have been designing and 3D printing ear savers and face shields for essential workers. If you or anyone you know need any, please reach out.
When Covid started causing shutdowns and protocols, I began 3D printing face shields for my mom to take into MGH in Boston. Using readily available materials and a 3D printed frame design from an open source website, I donated 32 face shields.
Soon after, I was asked to make ear savers for a pediatrics office. Ear savers work to hold the elastics on face masks off of the ears to prevent burns and red marks cause by prolonged wearing. I immediately jumped on the call to action and designed and 3D printed 40 ear savers over a weekend.
I have created templates and Solidworks configurations to quickly make different designs and sizes. Since April 26th, 2020, I have donated over 300 ear savers to essential workers across Massachussets.
